Since 1972, the Bass Reapers fishing club has provided fellowship by holding friendly catch & release tournaments and other events.
CLUB ACTIVITIES
The bass fishing club holds a members-only outing once per month. We fish at most of the regional lakes including; Lake Berryessa, Delta, Clear Lake, Shasta, Don Pedro, Camanche, Sonoma, Black Butte, and Folsom lake.
We also hold a monthly social meeting on the first Tuesday of every month at 7PM. This meeting is at Jacks and Linda's Country Cafe, 2390 North Texas Street, Fairfield, CA (707) 425-1442.
CONSERVATION
In 1981, the Bass Reapers began hosting an annual open tournament in order to raise funds to support conservation efforts at Lake Berryessa. This tournament is very popular with 250 participants and a $10,000 payout. As a result, over 30,000 Florida-strain largemouth bass have been released in Lake Berryessa and we have increased much needed bass “structure” in the lake. Lastly, in 2009, the club was able to install a fish cleaning station at the Berryessa free launch ramp.
